Do you only work with PLG SaaS companies?

We primarily work with product-led companies and companies that leverage their product to acquire customers.

If you use a trial/freemium model in combination with a sales team to acquire and onboard customers, we're a great fit and have 15 years of experience working with SaaS products like yours.

Our goal is to learn what the highest converting customer experience is for your ideal customers, whether product-led, sales-led, or some combination of the two (like product-led sales). If that sounds good to you, you should book a call.

We're probably not the right fit for you if you're only leveraging an outbound motion to acquire customers. That's because we rely on the context and circumstances that lead to customers experiencing the problem you solve and seeking out a solution.

What inputs and research methods do you use to make positioning, messaging and growth recommendations?

Every team and product we work with is unique. We use a combination of many sources to guide our strategic recommendations.

Here are a few: Business objectives, team learning goals, team interviews, customer interviews, customer surveys, AI-moderated customer studies, website surveys, sales call recordings, previous research reviews, competitive research, and more broad market research. In some cases we may also recommend churn interviews at an additional cost.

We also, of course, rely on our decades of experience working with hundreds of SaaS teams.

Without that intel, it would be too hard to identify qualified customers to learn from in order to ensure we were not learning from or optimizing for bad-fit customers.

If you don't have any paying customers yet, you aren't a fit to work with us. That's because we rely on market signals, including customer research, to identify and define your best-fit customer so that we can help you get more of them. Without customers, you're better off leveraging target market research and audience research.

That said, we do offer many free and low-cost options like the Forget The Funnel book, podcast and resource library.

If you have a recurring revenue business model (subscription-based, member-based, etc) and you have happily paying customers, we would be happy to explore working with you.
